DION FORTUNE TAROT CARDS
Based on the Conclusions of Dion Fortune in The Mystical Qabalah
THE DION FORTUNE TAROT CARDS consists of 78 cards, divided into 22 Grand Arcana and 56 Lesser Arcana (instruction booklet included). The images on the cards have been designed and assembled by David Williams, Warden of The Society of Inner Light for the past 16 years. In line with the teachings of Dion Fortune, this tarot deck is primarily intended for meditation and reflection. The meanings and information contained in the booklet are based on the conclusions presented in The Mystical Qabalah and the Path. Working spreads are drawn from traditional Kabbalah, such as the Supernal Triangle, the Ethical Triangle, and the Three Pillars.

LUDY LESCOT ARRIVES AT LAST!

Yes dear readers, the long awaited Ludy Lescot Tarot Deck is due to make it's appearance at deep books on Monday 18th June. 

Ludy Lescot is a young esoteric and student of the arts, who one could meet on the streets in the French Quarter of New Orleans during the summer. Ludy is very shy, but she unexpectedly gained renown when a few famous personalities declared that they were “saved” thanks to her valuable advice. By faithfully following Ludy’s notes and sketches, Patrizio Evangelisti designed a fascinating tarot deck with great symbolic power and expression, capable of touching the hearts of all who use it.

This time round I would also like to plug one of my favourite tarot decks from Lo Scarabeo. The Jodorowski & Camoin Tarot of Marseille is simply superb. 


Thanks to secret documents held by the Camoin family, the original printers of the Tarot of Marseille deck, and many years of research by Phillippe Camoin and Alexandre Jodorowski, this Tarot has been restored to it's original 17th C style. Many missing symbols lost through time have been restored to the deck and the original colours which had changed due to modern printing methods in the 18th C have been carefully reproduced.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Now here is an interesting twist on the tarot from the Amazonian jungles of Peru. 

While studying Amazonian shamans who use ayahuasca and Peruvian coastal healers who use mescaline cactus to treat psychological illness, Marlene Dobkin de Rios learned about the naipes cards - fortune-telling cards similar to the tarot used as part of the healers' method of diagnosis. Immersing herself in their culture, she began telling fortunes with the naipes cards and was surprised by the intimacy it induced in the native people she was trying to study as well as the profoundly accurate results she encountered. Finding herself pulled further and further into Peruvian culture, in 1977 Dobkin de Rios was initiated into the sacred mystical order of Septrionismo, which emphasises specific techniques - such as meditation, ritual and reflection - to manage one's future rather than depending solely on fate and fortune.
